Comunidade - Community

Uma das coisas que aprendi na quinta do Chai e da Thai é que quando comprei a minha terra não tomei em conta um aspecto muito importante: a comunidade. Procupei-me com a diversidade, com a água, com a construção e com o preço mas pouco com a comunidade. Estão lá terriolas por perto mas a população está a diminuir e a envelhecer.

Eles estão inseridos em vários grupos que cooperam na colheita, venda, produção e aprendizagem. Apesar de terem as suas quintas individuais, estão em constante cooperação e incentivo à agricultura biológica.

One of the things I learnt at Chai's and Thai's farm is that when I bought my land, I didn't considered a very important aspect: the community. I tought about diversity, water, construction and price but little about the community. There are some settlements nearby but the population is dwindling and aging.

They are part of various groups that cooperate in harvesting, selling, producing and learning. Although they have their own farms, they are constantly cooperating and encouraging organic farming.
