À Luz das Velas - By Candlelight

O dia de ontem acabou por ser interessante. O planetário era minúsculo mas o espaço é sempre um tema fascinante. Mais uma ideia para uma aula.

Depois fomos a umas piscinas com os alunos. A Som teve vergonha de ser gordita. A Fai não foi porque a Som não foi e os outros professores, por talvez serem velhos. Eu só pensei que me ia saber mesmo bem refrescar e não permiti mais qualquer outro tpo e pensmento. Corridas, mergulhos e deslizes nos escorregas. Deu para tudo. Espero que esta criança dure muito tempo. Os miudos estavm felicíssimos.

No regresso a música já foi mais contida e houve uma paragem para ida ao supermercado. Custa-me muito ver miudos pequenos à solta no supermercado com dinheiro nos bolsos. O que trazem nos cestos não é nada bom mas tento ver que numa pequena aldeia não há muitas oportunidades.

Hoje precisava mesmo de me organizar. De manhã, com muita insistência, lá pus a internet a funcionar e à tarde dei uma limpeza valente no quarto.

As aulas acabaram e resta-me agora pensar nos testes, no planeamento para o próximo ano, na mini agrofloresta que quero fazer crescer na escola e no que fazer no mês de Abril.

Preparava-me para pôr as minhas comunicações digitais em dia quando se levantou um temporal. Automaticamente pensei: pois é, meus meninos, a mãe Natureza não gosta muito de plástico. E como estou na Tailândia, a electricidade foi-se. Se a minha criatividade já estava a ser desafiada pela falta de net, agora então...

Hoje já tinha pisado uma cobra fininha mas aí com uns 40 centímetros. Acho que andava atrás de uma rã e eu não a vi. Uns alunos meus apanham iguanas pequenas e vendem-nas por 2 baht. Acho que há quem coma aquilo.

Antes que escurecesse  fui jantar e beber uma cerveja. Aprendi uma palavra nova: tien (velas). Pois foi o que se vendeu mais na loja.

É giro ver as gentes à volta das velas. Alguns hipnotizados. Mas ainda não são 20:00h e eu não sei bem o que fazer.

Yesterday turned out to be interesting. The planetarium was tiny but the space is always a fascinating subject. One more idea for a class.

Then we went to some swimming pools with the students. Som was ashamed of being plump. Fai didn't go because Som didn't and the other teachers, because they might be old. I just thought of how refreshing it would be, and I didn't allow any other kind of thought. Races, dives and slides. I did it all. I hope this child lasts a long time. The kids were very happy.

When coming back the music was already contained and there was a stop to go to the supermarket. It's hard to see loose little kids in the supermarket with money in their pockets. What they bring in the baskets isn't good but I try to see that in a small village there are not many opportunities like this.

I really needed to organize myself today. In the morning, with great insistence, I fixed the internet problem and in the afternoon I cleanied my room deeply.

The classes are over and now I have to think about the tests, the planning for next year, the mini agroforestry that I want to grow in school and what to do in April.

I was preparing to get my digital communications up to date when a storm showed up. Automatically I thought: you see, little boys, Mother Nature doesn't like plastic. And since I'm in Thailand, the electricity is gone. If my creativity was already being challenged by the lack of net, now ...

Today I had stepped on a thin snake but it was about 40 centimeters long. I think it was after a frog and I didn't see it. Some of my students catch small iguanas and sell them for 2 baht. I think some people eat that.

Before it was dark I went out for dinner and had a beer. I learned a new word: tien (candles). The most sold product in that evening.

It's nice to see the people around the candles. Some hypnotized. But it's still not 20:00 and I'm not sure what to do.
