Ser Mais Paciente - Be More Patient

A semana em Chiang Mai acabou. Um sítio interessante que une a organização e sofisticação de um povo mais ocidentalizado e cristão com a Natureza resplandecente da Tailândia. Tive o prazer de conhecer a comunidade onde a Taew está inserida. Jovens agricultores que ambicionam mais que dinheiro. Querem uma vida feliz junto dos seus e com o sentimento que estão a tornar o mundo melhor. Seja por amor a um filho, ou a um Rei, ou pela dor de um divórcio, o que interessa é ver com nitidez e acordar orgulhoso com o que se faz.

Em conversa com a Taew, umas ideias que tinha, organizaram-se e parecem-me importantes para ser mais paciente quanto à velocidade com que as pessoas adquirem a consciência: Em Chiang Mai existem mais projectos que se preocupam com o ambiente mas não vi pobreza. São mais desenvolvidos. Da mesma forma como se compara Londres com Lisboa.

Antes de querer ser permacultor revolucionário quis ter muito dinheiro. Fui criado com tudo ou quase tudo. Tenho uma educação quase de topo. A geração dos meus pais, pelo contrário. Batalharam muito para oferecer o melhor aos seus filhos e desfrutaram de algum (não muito) materialismo. As questões ambientais são um problema de todos mas apenas são pensados nos países de 1º mundo (e nem todos), onde as necessidades básicas já não são um problema.

The week in Chiang Mai is over. An interesting place that unites the organization and sophistication of a more Westernized and Christian people with the resplendent Nature of Thailand. I had the pleasure of getting to know the Taew's community. Young farmers who want more than money. They want a happy life with their loved ones and with the feeling that they are making the world better. Whether for a son's love, or a King's love, or a divorce's pain, what matters is to see clearly and wake up proud with what you do.

In a conversation with Taew, some ideas that I have had, got organized and seem important for me to be more patient about how fast people become aware: In Chiang Mai there are more projects that care about the environment but I didn't see poverty . They are more developed. In the same way when comparing London with Lisbon.

Before I wanted to be a revolutionary permacultor I wanted to have lots of money. I was raised with everything or almost everything. I had nearly a top education. The generation of my parents, on the other hand, battled hard to offer the best to their children and enjoyed some (not much) materialism. Environmental issues are everyone's problem but are only thought of in the 1st world countries (and not all) where basic needs are no longer a problem.
