A Raiva é uma Dádiva - Anger is a Gift

Hoje, a Taew trouxe-me até uma universidade em Chiang Mai para uma reunião entre agricultores orgânicos e permacultores. O objectivo é discutir que estratégia tomar contra a intenção de se criar uma lei que proíbe que se guarde ou partilhe sementes obrigando os agricultores a terem sempre de as comprar. (Sinto-me um pouco envergonhado de não saber como está Portugal quanto a esta lei que penso ter sido estabelecida em 1978). Falta dizer que quem anda “promover” esta lei perante os governos. São 6 empresas que controlam 75% do negócio das sementes, pesticidas, organismos geneticamente modificados e até medicamentos. (Eis as 6 empresas (em 3 parcerias) para odiar mais tarde: Monsanto/Bayer, ChemChina/Syngenta e Dupont/Pioneer) Como bem disse o Jon Jandai, hoje em dia os governos são controlados pelas grandes empresas e os membros do parlamento Tailandês têm um mês para decidirem se aceitam ou não, sendo necessários 80% de votos a favor. (Que coincidentemente calha na altura do funeral do rei). As consequências más e absurdas são tantas que nem me dou ao trabalho de pensar nelas, mas eles aqui, discutiram-nas, apelaram à racionalização e tentar perceber o jogo da lei para o jogarem também. Das duas soluções encontradas, uma passa por transmitir de uma forma simplificada, esta nova intenção à população, e a outra, por sugerir uma nova lei com a permissão de se guardar e partilhar as sementes.

Eu não falei mas a minha pergunta é: Então e se as empresas subornarem o parlamento? De que servem estas soluções? Eu não sou a favor que se jogue o jogo deles. Não temos hipóteses. Isto é uma guerra. Eles têm o poder, dinheiro e a lei. Nós temos a verdade, a dignidade de um ser livre neste planeta e podemos ter o povo e a coragem. Não acredito que se deva acalmar o coração. “ A raiva é uma dádiva” é uma frase de uma banda bem conhecida da minha geração. Olho para a história e muitas das revoluções que nos dão o conforto de hoje foram conquistadas por heróis que moveram multidões e muitas vezes foram presos ou mortos.

As lutas que travamos hoje, como também a da “Indústria do Fogo” necessitam de líderes. De sacrifícios. De heróis.

E se têm dúvidas que o poder está no nosso lado, imaginem o que aconteceria se no próximo verão os bombeiros fizessem greve.

Today, Taew brought me to a university in Chiang Mai for a meeting between organic and permaculture farmers. The aim is to discuss what strategy to take against the intention to create a law that prohibits the storage or sharing of seeds, forcing farmers to always buy them. (I am a little ashamed of not knowing how Portugal is in terms of this law that I think was established in 1978). I also have to say who's "promoting" this law to the governments. There are 6 companies that control 75% of the business of seeds, pesticides, genetically modified organisms and even medicines. (Here are the 6 companies (in 3 partnerships) to hate later: Monsato/Bayer, ChemChina/Syngenta and Dupont/Pioneer) As Jon Jandai has said and well, nowadays governments are controlled by large companies and members of the Thai parliament have a month to decide whether to accept it or not, being 80% of the votes required. (Which coincidentally happens at the same time of the king's funeral). The bad and absurd consequences are so many that I don't even bother to think about them, but they here, discussed them, called for rationalization and try to perceive the game of law to play it too. Of the two solutions found, one is to transmit in a simplified way, this new intention to the population, and the other, by suggesting a new law with the permission to save and share the seeds.

I didn't say anything but my question is: So what if companies bribe the parliament? What are these solutions for? I'm not in favor of playing their game. We have no chance. This is a war. They have power, money, and the law. We have the truth, the dignity of a free being on this planet, and we can have the people and the courage. I don't believe that the heart should be calmed. "Anger is a gift" is a phrase from a well-known band of my generation. I look at history and many of the revolutions that gave us the comfort we have now were conquered by heroes who moved crowds and were often arrested or killed.

The struggles we are fighting today, as well as the "Fire Industry", need leaders. Sacrifices. Heroes.

And if you have doubts that the power is on our side, imagine what would happen if firefighters go on strike next summer.
