Árvore - Tree

O aquecimento global é uma realidade já difícil de ignorar. Já há muito que os glaciares têm vindo a diminuir, os desastres naturais a aumentar e os artificiais potenciados.

Só quem tem dificuldade em mudar os seus hábitos capitalistas, não quer ver, como alguns americanos, chineses, gente rica em geral, gente despreocupada em geral.

A solução para este problema é demasiado evidente para mim e tem seis letras: Árvore.

 A árvore é um sistema tão evoluído que o homem nunca conseguirá reproduzir nada igual, apesar de não lhe dar o devido valor.

Uma árvore produz fruto, madeira, muita matéria orgânica. Serve de casa a outros seres. As raízes atraem organismos, estruturam o solo e, na maioria das vezes, o melhoram também. Fornecem a sombra mais fresca de todas porque são nada menos que um reservatório de água que permite a circulação do ar. Uma floresta consegue armazenar tanta água ao ponto de criar riachos e cascatas. Limpam o solo e o ar de toxinas e por vezes a água também. E mais importante que tudo, retiram o carbono do ar e mantém-no em si e no solo.

Podemos trocar o nosso carro a Diesel por um eléctrico mas também podemos fazer crescer árvores. Uma solução mais limpa, diria.

Tanto aqui ou em Portugal ou e qualquer lugar do mundo há quem fuja do calor e se refugie no seu ar condicionado. As vilas com ar climatizado no Dubai, os centros comerciais ou supermercados, os carros, o gabinete do director ou a sala de estar dos meus pais. Aí estão eles todos a salvarem o seu pêlo no agora e a piorarem a vida do próximo.

Os ares condicionados emitem gases que agravam o efeito de estufa. É uma bola de neve cada vez mais difícil de parar. Eu sei que a maioria das pessoas não pensa, mas que raio de mundo querem oferecer aos seus filhos?

Anda tudo demasiado ocupado a tentar ganhar dinheiro para um futuro que se degrada a cada dia. Vamos deixar essa responsabilidade nas mãos dos nossos líderes com superegos, corruptos e sedentos de poder e dinheiro.

Na verdade não tenho grandes esperanças na humanidade. Por onde já passei e pelo que já vi, encontrei muita mente afectada pela sociedade ou muita natureza egoísta. Quem é que decide ir de bicicleta ao restaurante, em vez de carro, só porque é melhor para o ambiente, trazendo algum desconforto para si próprio? Eu sei. Alguns, mas muito poucos.

Portugal está sem água e a bater recordes de incêndios. Há quem incendeie por uma comissão choruda da utilização dos aviões que apagam os fogos, pelos seguros dos terrenos ou simplesmente para verem uma grande obra, já que a sua pequenez não lhes permite mais. Uma vez mais, as mentes doentes ou o egoísmo.

A nossa natureza egoísta talvez fizesse sentido há muitos anos atrás. Hoje somos muitos e as nossas acções influenciam os outros e rapidamente nos virão bater à porta. 

Plantem árvores, pelos vosso filhos.

Global warming is already a difficult reality to ignore. Glaciers have long been declining, natural disasters are increasing and the artificial ones' potencial too.

Only those who can't change their capitalist habits don't want to see, like some Americans, Chinese, rich people in general, carefree people in general.

The solution to this problem is too obvious for me and has four letters: Tree.

 The tree is a system so evolved that man will never be able to reproduce anything like it, although he doesn't appreciate it that much.

A tree produces fruit, wood, lots of organic matter. It's the home of other beings. Roots attract organisms, structure the soil and, most of the time, improve it as well. They provide the coolest shade of all because they are nothing less than a reservoir of water that allows air circulation. A forest can store so much water to the point of creating streams and waterfalls. They clean the soil and the air of toxins and sometimes water too. And most importantly, they take the carbon out of the air and keep it in themselves and on the ground.

We can change our car from Diesel to electrical but we can also grow trees. A cleaner solution, I would say.

Whether here or in Portugal or anywhere in the world, there are those who escape the heat and take refuge in their air-conditioning. The air-conditioned villas in Dubai, the shopping centers or supermarkets, the cars, the office of the director or the living room of my parents. There they are all saving their butt by now and make the life of the next one worse.

The conditioned air emits gases that aggravate the greenhouse effect. It's a snowball that each day is harder to stop. I know most people don't think, but what the hell of world do they want to offer to their children?

Everyone is too busy trying to make money for a future that is being degraded every day. We will leave this responsibility in the hands of our corrupted leaders with superegos, and thirsting for power and money.

I don't really have high hopes for humanity. From where I've been and from what I've seen, I found a lot of mind affected by society or a lot of selfish nature. Who decides to go by bicycle to the restaurant instead of the car, just because it's better for the environment, bringing some discomfort to oneself? I know. Some, but very few.

Portugal is running out of water and breaking records of fires. There are those who set fire for a large commission of the firefighter planes, the insurance of the land or simply to see a great piece, since their smallness doesn't allow them for more. Again, sick minds or selfishness.

Our selfish nature might have made sense many years ago. Today we are many and our actions influence others and they will quickly knock back on our door.

Plant trees, for your children.
